To our members,
I wanted to let you know that the plan to close next season is still moving ahead. The Town continues to negotiate with the third party operators who have bid on the winter bubble and a selection should be made very soon. I was very encouraged to hear from the Town of how impressed they were with the bids. The feeling is very positive that the winter bubble will be coming to Milton next year!
Part of that process will be a complete reconstruction of our courts starting as early next spring as the weather will allow! We have to hope for a warm dry spring! As such the club will be closed and will reopen fully with all of the same teams and programs in 2019.
President, Milton Tennis Club
The Milton Executive has had very productive discussions with the Town of Milton over the last several months. They are FINALLY willing to pursue the possibility of Winter Tennis in Milton with a third party operator. As such, the reconstruction of our courts (originally scheduled for spring 2017) will be delayed until 2018.
During this time, the Town with our input will be putting out a RFP and selecting a vendor to operate and install a winter bubble. Planning and designing will occur with all parties with a target start date for reconstruction in the spring of 2018. We would close for the 2018 outdoor season instead.
We will keep you posted on the updates with the Town and please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
In the mean time……Let’s get ready for another great summer at the Milton Tennis Club!!!
We are prepping all the programs and staffing for another season, so please come back and join us for more:

UPDATE – MTC open in 2017!
As some of you may have heard there is a possibility that our facility will be undergoing renovations for the entire 2017 tennis season. The Town cannot confirm if the proposed budget has been approved until early in the New Year. We are very thankful that the Town has taken our concerns about our courts seriously and seem prepared to make a major investment in tennis in Milton.
The preliminary plan is that all 8 courts will be reconstructed, not just resurfaced, and that the work will rectify the issues we have been having with the court surface. As mentioned, it is estimated that the work will require the full 2017 year to complete cancelling all programs for the year. While you may have many questions, at this point we do not have any more information than has been provided in this note. We will make sure updates are provided as they are received.
